Attention That Is Entirely Yours
One-to-one means Lauren can make sure you are activating the right muscles from the very beginning, building from your core outward with proper form.

Eagle Rock, Los Angeles
Fifty unhurried minutes on Saturday mornings, built around your body and where it is that day.
50 Minute Private Pilates Session
A private one-to-one Pilates session with Lauren, a classically trained instructor working out of a quiet private studio in Eagle Rock. Each session is built around you: your body, your goals, where you are today.
We’ll move between the full range of Pilates apparatus, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Pilates Barrel, Wunda Chair, and Mat, choosing what serves your body best on the day.
The work is rooted in the mind and body connection that makes Pilates such a powerful practice. It’s not just movement, but awareness. Our aim is that you leave feeling stronger, more in tune with your body, and feeling healthier and happier than when you walked in.

One-to-one means Lauren can make sure you are activating the right muscles from the very beginning, building from your core outward with proper form.

A full studio means countless ways to modify, so an injury can be protected and your healing supported as carefully as it needs.

Pilates was designed as an individual practice. If you have never done it before, this is one of the best ways to start.

Lauren is a classically trained pilates instructor (all apparatus & mat) passionate about back health after herniating a disc when she was 14-years-old. After years of suffering, the only thing that seemed to help was pilates, so after a decade of personal practice, Lauren decided to get her certification through the Equinox Comprehensive Program designed by Carrie Macy Samper.
A fourth-generation instructor, she is focused on connecting the original work of Joseph Pilates and the Principles of Pilates to her clients to support them in living happier and healthier lives.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Lauren is also the founder ofNot Another Pottery Studio(NAPS) in Eagle Rock, a community pottery studio focused on kindness, cleanliness, and creating creative community.
Sessions are private, unhurried, and built around you.

Joseph Pilates’ Contrology
“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” Joseph Pilates
Full attention on every movement. “Concentrate on the correct movements,” Pilates wrote, “lest you lose all the vital benefits.” We move slowly, so each exercise counts.
Pilates called his method Contrology, the study of control. Nothing moves on momentum or force. Every repetition is owned from start to finish.
All movement begins from your center, the powerhouse of core, low back, and hips. A strong center supports the rest of you. We build it first.
Quality over quantity. A few movements done precisely do more than many done carelessly. You leave with real change, not just fatigue.
“Breathing is the first act of life,” Pilates wrote. Full, intentional breath clears the body and steadies the mind. You learn to breathe with every movement.
Each exercise connects smoothly into the next. That grace builds stamina and ease, on the mat and in your day.
Yes, and it is one of the best ways to start. Pilates was designed as an individual practice. Group classes can be fun, but one-to-one means I can make sure you are activating the right muscles from the very beginning, building from your core outward with proper form. Every session is tailored to you, your body, your goals, and where you are that day.
Yes, as long as your doctor has cleared you. Pilates has always been as much about rehabilitation as prevention. Joseph Pilates worked closely with dancers in New York, including performers from the city’s ballet and Broadway companies, who came to him to recover from injury and rebuild their strength. In a private session we have a full range of apparatus and countless ways to modify, so we can protect your injury and support your healing as carefully as possible.
Wear whatever you feel most comfortable moving in. For some people that is proper workout gear, for others it is old sweatpants and a t-shirt. Both are perfectly fine. I recommend coming barefoot or in grip socks, and the studio sells grip socks if you would like a pair. Bring water if you can, though we keep water on hand if you forget.
Parking is in the lot outside BB Wellness Collective, opposite Trader Joe’s in Eagle Rock.
